Save the date, 23 October 2021 @ 10am for a Beginners Bird Talk and Walk, presented by The Birding Life.
Adam Cruickshank, the founder of The Birding Life, developed an online platform helping people discover birds. Additionally, the platform helps people discover birding destinations and offers some useful resources.
Born in Zimbabwe, but having spent most of his life in South Africa, Adam is based in Amanzimtoti. A town based on the South Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. Most of his birding is done within his local patch in an area which is called the Sapphire Coast.
He is passionate about conservation. Through The Birding Life, Adam looks for ways to create awareness around various organizations that are making a difference in this area.
Sithembiso Blessing Majoka will be joining Adam at the bird talk. Together they will teach you to navigate your field guide to correctly identify birds. This will be followed by a two-hour walk at the Monkโs Cowl Campsite to practice what you have learnt.
Blessing works as a Field Ranger for eThekwini Municipality. His career started in 2000 at the Durban Botanical Gardens as volunteer guide, and was trained as a Nature Guide. In 2011, a transfer to Amanzimtoti Bird Sanctuary, ignited his love for birds. He is a passionate bird photographer and an ambassador for The Birding Life. He was recently nominated and presented as one of the recipients of 2021 Birdlife Owl Award in June this year.
If you are a keen birder, this is an event you do not want to miss! Booking is essential as numbers will be capped at 40 people. Strict Covid Protocols apply.
