Drakensberg Ballooning offer scenic hot air balloon flights in the Central Drakensberg. A minimum of 4 people is required to confirm a flight and they will try and match you up with other groups. The hot air balloon scenic flight lasts on average 45 -60 minutes, followed by a celebratory glass of champagne. A certificate is awarded to each guest after breakfast. The total duration is about 2,5 hours from the time you meet your pilot until you return for breakfast.
A hot air balloon flight is usually a once in a lifetime experience. Drifting over farmlands and dams with the majestic Drakensberg in the background, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. An experience of a lifetime, taking in the breath-taking scenery, where on a good day you can see forever!
It is an early start at a small airfield only 2km from the Nest Hotel. The best time is first thing in the morning and launch is at sunrise. Drift with the wind and soar with eagles, at an average height of 1500m above the ground.
