As we reflect on this year, 2023, we acknowledge that it has not been an easy year for many of us… but we have so much to be thankful for!
“Our” mountains are a constant reassuring presence which calms the mind and remind us that there is a greater Being looking after us. We have sunshine, fresh air and a great community. Spending time in this valley is certain to revive and restore the soul.
In the first half of the year, we spent a lot of time planning and preparing for a special country wedding, which held at our Hippo Pools, literally in the middle of nowhere.
The Bride and the Groom had a clear vision of what they wanted, and it was certainly achieved.
Our Bowls Club has flourished, largely due to all the efforts of our coach Theuns Fraser and his lovely wife Iris. We have enjoyed time on the greens with hundreds of bowlers of various degrees of skill, from all over South Africa and many other countries too. Some of our International bowling friends return year after year.
Stuart and I would like to thank our dedicated Nest Team who truly care about our guests and the Hotel, for their part in making this the special destination which it is.
To all our guests who have supported us, joined in the fun, and experienced this beautiful valley we live in we wish you a safe and happy festive season.
